CDROM and DVD are two great mediums on which to distribute your program. The interactivity offered by CD and DVD programs allows your audience to view the content in a nonlinear way, accessing only the information that is pertinent to them.

CD and DVD are great distribution mediums because of their high data capacity and low duplication cost. CDs can hold about 600MB of data and DVDs can hold up to 4GB of data.

Frontline Productions offers many services for CDROM and DVD production including:

Design
We offer full program design services. This includes a technical design, as well as, the 'look and feel' of the program. Special attention is paid to the end-user experience. Ease of use, logical program flow, media integration, and interconnectivity or extensibility all add to the end-user experience. Typically the design of the program will carried over into all of the collateral materials which are produced to support he program - these may include print, web sites, packaging, posters, etc.

Authoring
Authoring or programming is the act of integrating media elements and creating functionality. Typically, off the shelf tools are used to facilitate this phase of production. These tools include Macromedia Director, Asymetix Toolbook, Flash, etc. Off the shelf tools provide a common platform, so that your program can be modified by other industry experts if necessary.

Authoring also includes all custom programming or application development. For example, you may want your sales/marketing program to have the ability to calculate and print a custom price quote for a customer, or you may want an application which passes demographic data to a website for collection and analysis. Authoring is the base for the end-user experience.

Animation
Animation adds excitement to a program and can also be a dynamic tool for disseminating your content. Animations are great to show users complex content or before and after states of objects, projects, products, or time. Animations can also add a nice touch to screen transitions, buttons, navigation, or charts.

Encoding
The act of taking an analog audio or video source and converting it to a electronic file to be used in a presentation, cdrom, dvd, website, or other electronic medium.

CMMS - Computer Based Maintenance Management System Page
When Northeast Generation Services wanted to start marketing their Computer Based Maintenance Management System to other organizations that needed facilities management services, they called Frontline. We created an interactive tour of all the features of the program including testimonials from users and an internet connection to the NGS web site for updates on the product.
NECS - FoodPro 2000
NECS was looking for a way to upsell their client base of 5000 users to their newest software platform. The software is designed to help food distributors run their businesses and most distributors were reluctant to invest more money in technology. NECS thought that if their clients could try the new product they would buy it. So we created a full interactive tour of the product and the company. In addition, we included a full evaluation version of the software, as well as, video testimonials from customers who had migrated to the new platform already.
PBX,Centrex and Beyond
SBC is one of the largest telephone companies in the United States, and they have many services beyond plain old telephone service. Large companies own their own PBX and Centrex systems to run their phone systems. SBC needed a way to inform their large business customers about emerging services and technologies that could benefit not only their telephone networks, but also, their data networks. So, they held a one day seminar with presenters from around the country. We video taped the event, digitized the footage, and included their powerpoint presentations on a interactive CDROM for the customers who could not attend the event.
