March Madness: The Road to Success

This large sales organization has an annual event to recognize the achievements of their best employees. 600 of the company's top performers attend an afternoon event which features a performance review, sales awards, and goals for the coming year.

Since the event was to be held in March and there were 64 sales winners, we came up with a March Madness theme to parallel the NCAA basketball tournament theme. We hired Robin Roberts and John Saunders from ESPN to be our hosts. We built a sports show set and created theme graphics and videos to closely match the style of ESPN's popular program Sportscenter.

The format of the program was built around the NCAA tournament selection show: Winners were announced in brackets, videos segued the speech segments and were designed to mimick highlight videos from the previous year, and all speeches were designed around common sports terms (teamwork, persistence, practice, hustle, etc.)

Success: Thomas Edison - What Would Edison Do If He Were Alive Today?

The Small Business Administration of Connecticut has a mission of promoting small business in the state. In an effort to help small business owners, the SBA sponsors events designed to give entreprenuers the opportunity to learn from and interact with successful business people from the many different disciplines such as accounting, law, marketing, information technology, sales, finance, etc.

We asked Dr. David Sloane, an expert on Edison, to give a keynote address on his perspective of what he thought the great inventor and entreprenuer would do if he were in business today.

After the keynote address attendees would then have the opportunity to select from individual breakout session that were designed to address specific business issues, including: Advertising, Taxes, Venture Captial, Marketing, etc.
